Overview:
The Newsroom is a Canadian tv comedy-drama series that ran on CBC Television at the 1996--97, 2003--2004 and 04 --05 seasons. A tv movie, Escape from the Newsroom, was broadcast in 2002.
The series is set from the newsroom of a tv station that's never named, but is understood to be predicated on the CBC itself. Inspired by American series The Larry Sanders Show and similar to such earlier series as the British Drop the Dead Donkey and the Australian front line, the series mined a dark strand of comedy from the political machinations and the absolute incompetence of these people involved with producing City Hour, the channel's nightly newscast.
The run of 13 episodes led The Newsroom to turn into one of their programs on Canadian television in the 1990s, although not intended as an ongoing series.
Following this Newsroom's end, Finkleman produced three different string for the CBC Tears, Foolish Heart and Foreign Objects, all which included Findlay as an character.
