Law worked as a chauffeur for rural tycoon Luk and was sentenced to prison for causing the death of a prominent landowner in a car accident. Luk was thought to have been responsible for the landowner's death, which provided Luk an advantage in the native housing construction agreement. When Law is released from prison five years later, the world has altered dramatically. Luk's firm has grown in strength, and Keung, Luk's right-hand man, is pursuing his own goal. However, events take an unforeseen turn. With the assistance of Law's prison friend and computer genius Joe, Law drugs Sean and his brothers and then modifies their mobile phones for wiretapping. Joe meets the materialistic single mother Eva, who reveals a tragic history with both Law and Keung. Law discovers Keung's final scheme through eavesdropping, which has the potential to irreversibly alter Hong Kong's land development.
