Joan Girardi's behavior has become weird since her family relocated to Arcadia. Nobody knows that several persons keep introducing themselves as God and then giving the teenager precise instructions. Unsure of what God wants or if she's even sane, Joan gingerly begins to follow God's enigmatic directions, all the while attempting to maintain a "normal" teen-aged existence.
