Overview:
Invisible Heroes tells the story of the brave actions of young Finnish diplomats in Chile during the notorious military coup of 1973. Tapani Brotherus, Ilkka Jaamala, and Tapani's wife Lysa Brotherus, who is also a diplomat, helped more than 2,000 left-leaning Chileans escape the military junta's persecution. The Finns acted without official permission, while Swedish ambassador Harald Edelstam was the most visible defender of human rights, with the support of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme.
