A robot envoy is sent across the planet in an effort to convince humanity to live in peace. Inadvertently, she winds herself in Amman, Jordan during the Black September riots of1970, despite having been intended to attend MIT. Sullivan, a British journalist, offers her refuge in his hotel room after he discovers her walking without identification following a blast. She then reveals that she is a robot sent as a peace ambassador from another planet. He is uncertain as to whether or not she is telling the truth, but he finds her unique perspective on the world fascinating. They discuss the human condition in a series of really intelligent and interesting dialogues.
