Ichigo Kurosaki's school is attacked by mysterious souls called Unforgiven (Togabito), shown to have escaped out of Hell, and Rukia Kuchiki and Renji Abarai are shipped to explore. The Unforgiven, that are led by Shuren, also Ichigo sister Yuzu Kurosaki is abducted targets ichigo's family. An Unforgiven named Kokut? saves Karin Kurosaki from becoming abducted as nicely, and persuading Ichigo to accompany him and the Soul Reapers to Hell to save . When they're attacked by creatures called Kushan?da, the guardians of Hell, about the travel, Ichigo's noodle mask begins to spontaneously manifest.
