Vivienne Wake, a workaholic television producer tasked with producing a country music Christmas special featuring newcomer Alexis, never lets personal feelings get in the way of business. On the verge of taking a position in Los Angeles, and with the return of Gavin Chase, her childhood sweetheart and manager of the special's headliner, Belinda, she is visited by the spirit of her recently departed mentor, Marilyn. Her mentor warns her that her present path will lead to a dark future and has enlisted the assistance of both the Spirit of Christmas Past and the Spirit of Christmas Present in order to assist her in regaining her bearings. The Spirits' time-traveling exploits push Vivienne to reclaim her life.
